ECO DESIGN offers a Plans Kit for the Octagonal Yurt House. The Yurt Kit Plans are suitable for the Professional or Owner-Builder.

The Yurt Designs can easily incorporate Passive Solar Principles to orientate the Yurt on the site to make the most of the winter sun and reduce the intensity of the summer sun.

The Central Yurt Roof is freestanding without a central post support. At the top of the Roof is a Cupola/Skylight which optimises the ventilation and air flow in the Yurt.

There are 2 sizes to choose from or incorporate - The Small Yurt with 2400mm (8ft.) wall length for a total area of 28.7 square metres (308 sq.ft.). The Large Yurt uses walls 3600mm in length (12ft.) to enclose a total area of 64 square metres (685 sq.ft.).

The Yurt Plans Kits cost between $100.00 US for the Small Yurt up to $300.00 US for the 2 storey Large Yurt.

The Octagonal shape, which is practically round, is the simplest shape for modern construction methods and materials and a roundhouse Yurt designs and produces an efficient and aesthetically pleasing space.
